Hickey Dining Hall was evacuated due to a fire alarm activation on Tuesday afternoon.
At 4:20, Safety and Security officers and Allegany Fire Department responders were notified of a fire alarm activation in Hickey Dining Hall.
Officer Bish Jr. reported he located the activated smoke detector and that no fire existed. The cause was “excessive steam from the kitchen cooking area door briefly open,” according to Safety and Security’s official fire report.
Everyone reentered the building at 4:35 and the alarm was reset.
