St. Bonaventure University is updating its on-campus dining program for the upcoming year, according to Dining Service officials.

“Meal plans are being updated to provide greater flexibility and better alignment with how students dine on campus,” said Nicole Clark, general manager for dining services. “Clearer distinctions between plan tiers, improved value within each plan, and adjustments to swipe usage will be implemented to support a more customizable dining experience.”

Updates will affect multiple locations, including the Hickey Dining Hall, Yella’s, Café La Verna and Freshens with adjustments tailored to each site. Locations including Yella’s and the library will have new pre-packaged gluten free items.

“Dining Services is also strengthening its approach to dietary accommodations by expanding allergen‑friendly offerings, improving labeling, and enhancing safe‑prep practices to ensure students with dietary restrictions have reliable, diverse, and accessible meal choices every day,” said Clark.

Dining services collaborated with representatives from the Student Government Association and the Food Committee.

“These updates were developed with significant student involvement and feedback,” said Clark. “Their input helped ensure that the changes reflect student priorities and support the way students actually use campus dining.”

According to Francis Zaklukiewicz, student chair of the Food Committee, Halal options are expanding and the Wolf Den is making a transition with talk of late night breakfast.

“Halal chicken is available upon request with a 15-minute wait time,” said Zaklukiewicz.

University officials said the updates are intended to provide more consistent, accessible and diverse dining options. Students can expect a broader range of meals, including expanded global cuisine, more plant-forward selections, additional made-to-order stations and greater variety in entrées and grab-and-go options.
