Richmond, VA — St. Bonaventure University faces Virginia Commonwealth University in both teams’ regular-season finales at Sports Backers Stadium on Saturday.

The Bonnies (6-6-4 overall, 2-4-1 A-10) will face off against a Rams (4-5-5 overall, 4-1-2 A-10) team that includes 6-foot-4 goalkeeper John Ermini and 5-foot-7 inches midfielder Damian Gallegos.

“You have to take care of the ball because they [VCU] are good when they win the ball in transition, and we have to defend our set pieces really well,” said Bonnies head coach Kwame Oduro. “We also have to be very good when we win the ball, because they like to play out of the back when they have to keep possession. So when they lose the ball, we also have to take advantage of it and punish them.”

Bonaventure’s leading goal scorer, 5-foot-5 midfielder Kenzo Brito, has 4 goals and six assists on the season. Jules Dechert, a 6-foot-5 goalkeeper, leads the Bonnies with 70 saves so far this season.

The Rams have already locked up a spot in the A-10 Tournament. A win against Bonaventure gives the Rams the chance to be A-10 regular-season champions if Davidson draws or loses its final match.Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the gate an hour before kick off and are already available online.
