The 2026 St. Bonaventure University women’s soccer team closed nonconference play with a 3-3-1 record, its best nonconference record since going without a loss at 2-0-5 in 2022.
The Bonnies are led by new head coach Ray Leone, who entered the season with 309 Division I wins. Leone has coached many major Division I programs, including Harvard University, Arizona State University, Clemson University and The University of Maryland.
He brings accolades such as Atlantic Coast Conference and Ivy League Coach of the Year awards to a Bonaventure program that has not won more than three games in a season since 2021. Leone’s Bonnies have already matched that mark through seven games in the 2026 season.
The Bonnies two goalie committee helped Bonaventure to four shutouts, three wins and one draw. Senior Juliana Castellano picked up one win in three games, a shutout in the season-opener against Saint Peter’s University and posted a 1.33 goals against average in those appearances. Freshman Callie Turpin has a record of 2-1-1 with three shutouts in four appearances.
Bonaventure’s offense is led by freshmen Liana Tata and Aoife Murphy, as well as redshirt junior midfielder Audrey Cadman. Tata, a midfielder is tied for the team lead in goals with two, both coming off penalty kicks, Murphy and Cadman both have two goals each. Sophomore forward Ava Reybitz has contributed in multiple ways, tallying a goal and two assists in non-conference matches. Reybitz is the only Bonnies goal-scorer to also have an assist this season.
The Bonnies closed out their nonconference home schedule with a 4-0 victory over Cleveland State University on Sept. 6. Murphy and Cadman both tallied their second goals of the season. Freshman forward and midfielder Alexis Olson and graduate midfielder Eduarda Silva each scored their first goals. Freshman forward Sadie Richardson tallied an assist in the contest.
The Bonnies finished non-conference play in a scoreless draw at Long Island University on Sept. 13. Bonaventure opened its 10-game Atlantic 10 schedule with a 5-0 home loss to the University of Dayton on Saturday.
Bonaventure travels to face the University of Richmond at the President’s Field at River Road on Sunday, Sept. 27. Kickoff between the Bonnies and Spiders is set for 2 p.m.
