Spring fashion trends have emerged

A new season brings shifts in fashion trends and new inspiration on what to wear on a day to day basis. There are several fashion trends this spring that can be incorporated into any wardrobe.

The fashion capitols of the world – New York City, London and Paris – have served as houses to fashion runways and street wear trends.

One of the largest spring trends observed is incorporating a monochrome palette into anyone’s outfit.

According to Vogue, this was most noticed by major fashion companies Chanel, Saint Laurent and Dolce & Gabbana. The model representatives for these companies sported black and white monochrome outfits on the runway. However, a person can choose to rock the black and white checkered feel or take a colorful spin on the trend.

Spring time reinvokes the desire for color in one’s wardrobe. The blooms of spring flowers and greenery reinvents itself in the consumer’s fashion. Pastels and shades of green, in particular, have been inspiring current street fashion.

To incorporate the trends of the significant runways and to recognize the works of those bringing fashion to the streets, people have evoked monochrome outfits in various colorful trends.

A way to try this look out is to wear a blue pair of denim with a light blue top. Another way to be more bold would be to pick a colorful pair of corduroy trousers and pair it with a matching blouse.

According to Vogue, another notable spring trend is the “new-look bralette.” This is just a fancy way of incorporating lingerie into the everyday outfit.

Women are redefining the norms surrounding what is appropriate to wear out, which is shown in this trend. People are tastefully testing this look by wearing bralette tops layered with blazers and mesh, second-skin tops. Runway models for Moschino and Dior wore high-waisted bottoms for their spin on the trend.

A third trend for spring is the baggy pants. On social media, a joke amongst Gen Zers started where the skinny jeans are deemed to be ‘cancelled.’

From this internet joke rose the bootcut, flare and boyfriend cut denim trend. Now for spring 2021, runway models transformed this trend into the baggy trouser.

Is it a take on business wear or a more formal approach to baggy denim? The answer is both. People can choose to incorporate the baggy trouser in whichever way they like into their style, whether it be paired with a graphic t-shirt or a sharp blazer.

Fast fashion companies such as H&M and Forever 21 have brought these runway trends to a reasonable price point for the average consumer.

Another more ethical approach to incorporating trends would be to scour local thrift stores and secondhand shops to discover new found gems from the past to work into the current.

When in doubt, take a look into a friend’s, parent’s or your own wardrove for past trends resurfacing.
