Tied for 10th in the Atlantic 10 standings, the St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team (15-13, 6-10 A-10) travels to face George Washington (14-15, 6-10 A-10) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Charles E. Smith Center.
Teams that finish between the No. 5 and No. 10 seeds automatically advance to the second round of the A-10 tournament, which begins March 4.
The Bonnies defeated the Revolutionaries 54-53 at home on Dec. 31, with graduate guard Laycee Drake leading the way, scoring 21 points for Bonaventure.
Following a 58-55 loss to Loyola University Chicago, the Bonnies have won three out of their last five.
Bonaventure ranks sixth in the Atlantic 10 in field goal percentage and fourth in opponent field goal percentage, shooting 41.8% from the field and holding opponents to 38.6%.
Drake leads the Bonnies with 15.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Following a 67-52 loss to George Mason University, the Revolutionaries have lost four out of their last five games.
George Washington sits sixth in the A-10 in rebounding and 3-point field goal percentage, grabbing 33.6 boards per game and shooting 31.4% from the arc.
Sophomore guard Gabby Reynolds leads the Revolutionaries in scoring, averaging 14 points per game.
