George Mason (4-6-2, 3-1-0 A-10) started the scoring in the 16th minute with a penalty kick scored by senior defenseman Zoë Vidaurre. The penalty kick came off a handball call on Bonnies junior defenseman Naomi Sharma Tobar.
Four minutes later, Bonnies sophomore midfielder Hannah Lindenberger committed a defensive foul in the goal crease. George Mason’s Vidaurre scored her third of the season giving the Patriots a 2-0 lead.
George Mason kept their scoring going early on in the second half with a goal off a corner kick in the 54th minute. The corner kick was attempted by Zoë Vidaurre who was credited with an assist. The goal was scored by junior midfielder Molly Starner. Starner scored again in the 60th minute on a shot assisted by junior midfielder Madyson Taylor.
The Bonnies (3-7-2, 0-4-0 A-10) were only able to manage two shots on goal throughout the game compared to George Mason’s seven. The Bonnies also committed 11 fouls in the game versus George Mason’s nine.
The Patriots junior goalkeeper Libby Davy completed her third shutout win of the season and fourth shutout overall. Davy has started every game this season for George Mason and has posted a 1.33 goals against average thus far in 2025.
St. Bonaventure’s Atlantic 10 conference struggles continue as the Bonnies now fall to 0-4 to start conference play, winning only one of their last 14 conference games.
The Bonnies return home to take on the George Washington Revolutionaries on Oct. 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will air live on ESPN+.
