The devil works hard, but Swifties work harder.

A few weeks ago, I saw on Instagram that Taylor Swift possibly linked with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Before Swift, I had no idea who Kelce was (Maybe I’ve been living under a rock this time) nor did I care. I should preface that I’m not an NFL girly — except when it comes to the New York Giants because I have a cute vintage sweatshirt and I’m a Jersey girl or the Buffalo Bills, which is self-explanatory in Western New York.

On the flip side, I am a Swiftie, a Taylor Swift stan, through and through.

My point in saying all of this is that they were just “possibly” linked, and Swift has been “possibly” linked with many times before, all turning out to be rumors. But not this time.

Swift was spotted with Kelce’s mom in a box suite at the most recent Chiefs game! That certainly wasn’t on my bingo card for this NFL season. Granted, nothing was really on my radar this season besides Josh Allen growing out his hair.

After doing more research (delving into Swiftie TikTok), I uncovered that Kelce pursued Swift after attending the singer’s Eras Tour in July.

Optics are not just looking good for Kelce; they are arguably looking great. According to Rolling Stone, his jersey sales have spiked a whopping 400% since Swift attended Sunday’s game. Sounds like Kelce is “Swiftie-approved,” which is high praise.

But not everyone is happy. I am slightly cautious because I only trust men as far as I can throw them, and Kelce is a big boy.

After Sunday’s spectacle, it seems Swift is gunning for NFL wife status, and some of the Chiefs’ superfans aren’t having it. Social media has accused Swift of being a bandwagoner because the Chiefs are a popular team, citing last season’s Super Bowl victory. Still, in Swift’s defense, she was invited to this particular game, and Kelce just happened to play for the Chiefs.

I don’t know much about Kelce, but my understanding is that it takes two to tango, so Swift shouldn’t be taking all the heat.

The main takeaway is that we should be happy for Swift and Kelce. Let us put aside our football politics and judgments and enjoy the media circus surrounding Taylor Swift in her Travis Kelce Era.
