Concert ticket prices are too high for people

As someone coming up for the age to start going to concerts on my own and start paying for them, as 20-year olds, we look at the prices and question what do we have to sell to get these tickets? We idolize people so much that we are willing to sell kidneys to even be able to get the cheapest tickets to see our favorite performers.

What do we get out of it? Why do we spend so much money for an hour and a half show to just go home and sleep it off? Do you think it is worth it?

When I went to a concert back in 2019, before COVID-19 hit, I had an amazing time. We got the tickets at the last minute and just decided to go out and have fun at a concert that we honestly did not think we were going to see. We got the tickets a week before, which in our case, was not the greatest plan because that is always the most expensive time to get tickets, but we went with it. We paid $150 for the tickets, which we did not think was bad at the time. We did not know that the prices would have been significantly cheaper if we had purchased them when she said she was going on tour. Since we did it at the last minute, the ticket prices were jacked up.

When we got to the concert me and my friend were so excited, we could not contain ourselves on who we were going to be seeing for the first time and the last time. We got to our seats and waited. We waited for almost two hours to see this performer, which was fine, but it was just getting dragged. The performance happened, and in an instant, the show was over. The show was so quick and minuscule to the time we had waited to have her come on.

We started to question whether it was a promising idea to even see this performer on stage for only an hour. Was the money that we spent worth it? Could we have used the money that we paid for the tickets and the gas money to see the concert or something else that we could use for something else? These were the questions that we started to ask ourselves. Was it worth it?

Personally, it was worth it, but also it was not worth it at the same time. Ticket prices should be lower to get a get experience. Some people also feel that they paid for the ticket, so I am forcing myself to have an enjoyable time. This should be a thought for ticket prices to go down to have a more enjoyable experience for your fans and consumers.
