Preview: Bonaventure Women’s Basketball Looks to Even Season Series with Loyola Chicago

   The St. Bonaventure University women’s basketball team, tied for 10th in the Atlantic 10 standings, hosts Loyola University Chicago on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Reilly Center. 

   The Ramblers (12-14, 8-7 A-10) sit eighth in the A-10. They defeated the Bonnies 60-52 at home on Jan. 31, and freshman guard Alex Anne-Bessette scored 18 points for Loyola. 

  Loyola has won three straight against Bonaventure and leads the all-time series 3-2. 

   Coming off a 64-53 win at Virginia Commonwealth University, the Bonnies (15-12, 6-9 A-10) have won three out of their last four.  

   The Brown and White rank sixth in the Atlantic 10 in field goal percentage and fifth in opponent field goal percentage, shooting 42.1% from the field and holding opponents to 38.7%. 

   Graduate guard Laycee Drake leads the Bonnies with 15.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. 

   Following a 67-55 loss to George Mason University, the Ramblers have lost three straight.  

   They sit last in the A-10 in 3-point field goal percentage and opponent field goal percentage, shooting 26.7% from the arc and holding opponents to 41.8%. 

   Bessette leads the Ramblers in scoring with 11.5 points per game. 

  The game will air on YES Network, ESPN+ and the Bonnies Online Network.
