Ramblers Hand Bonnies Women’s Basketball Fifth Straight Loss

  The St. Bonaventure University women’s basketball team dropped its fifth straight game to Loyola Chicago, 60-52, Saturday in the Gentile Arena.  

   The Ramblers (10-11, 6-4 A-10) led 15-14 at the end of the first quarter and closed out the first half with a 6-0 run to carry a 26-20 lead into halftime. 

   Bonaventure (12-11, 3-8 A-10) outscored Loyola 21-13 in the third quarter, taking a 41-39 lead entering the fourth quarter. 

   Loyola opened the final quarter with a 6-0 run. Bonaventure never led again. 

   Freshman guard Alex-Anne Bessette tallied 18 points, three assists and two rebounds for the Ramblers. 

  Bonaventure graduate guard Laycee Drake led the team with 12 points, seven assists and five rebounds. 

  Graduate guard Aaliyah Parker chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds and two assists. 

  Bonaventure hosts Davidson (15-8, 7-3 A-10) in its next contest, Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. The game will air on ESPN+, YES Network, the Bonnies Online Network, WESB Sports B 107.5 FM and 1490 WESB-AM.
