The St. Bonaventure University men’s basketball team improved to 5-0 for the second consecutive season with a 75-61 win over Robert Morris University.
Senior forward Frank Mitchell led the Bonnies with 19 points a season-high 16 rebounds and three steals, shooting 9-of-14 from the floor. The Toronto, Ontario native has scored in double figures in every game this season.
Junior guard Darryl Simmons II added 16 points and five assists. Senior guard Cayden Charles recorded his fifth straight game scoring a dozen or more points, tallying 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
Sophomore forward Joe Grahovac made an impact in just 18 minutes of game time, scoring nine points, knocking down all three of his attempts from beyond the arc, and adding three blocks.
Sophomore forward Josh Hill led the Colonials (3-2) with 19 points and ten rebounds, both season highs. Junior forward Nikolaos Chitikoudis added 13 points and five rebounds, and redshirt junior guard Ryan Prather Jr. tallied 11 points and four steals.
The Bonnies jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the first four minutes, and never relinquished the lead.
Bonaventure put forth a stout defensive effort in the win, holding the Colonials to 36.1% from the field, their lowest output of the season, and just 21.7% from deep.
The Bonnies bring their undefeated record to Fort Myers, Fla. for their next contest, a clash with No. 18 North Carolina on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m. The game will air live on Fox Sports One and be broadcast on the Bonnies Online Network.
