Laycee Drake’s double-double lifted the St. Bonaventure University women’s basketball team to a win 64-57 win over the University at Buffalo on Wednesday evening at the Reilly Center.
The Bonnies recorded their fifth straight win and remain perfect on the season.
The Bonnies led by 17 in the third until the Bulls closed the quarter on a 10-0 run to cut the score to 42-36.
The Bulls tied the game at 55 with 1:54 left in regulation.
Drake’s baseline jumper gave the Bonnies a two-point lead, and the Bulls never pulled even again.
Drake, a graduate student guard, scored a career high 21 points and 14 rebounds.
Graduate student guard Aaliyah Parker, this week’s CPL Student-Athlete of the Week, tallied 16 points and seven rebounds.
Junior guard Paula Lopez led the Bulls in scoring with 13 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals. The Bulls fell to 1-4 on the season.
Bonaventure hosts the University at Albany, SUNY (3-2), Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. in the Reilly Center. The game will air on Yes Network, ESPN+ and the Bonnies Online Network.
