St. Bonaventure University’s men’s soccer team hosts conference opponent No. 24 George Mason University, their fourth to last game of the season, at the Marra Athletics Field Complex Saturday.
This is just the third time since 2015 that a nationally ranked team will play in Olean. Bonaventure is 1-0-1 in those contests.
The Bonnies sit 10th in the Atlantic 10 with a conference record of 1-2-1 and an overall record of 3-6-1, coming off a 2-0 conference loss to The University of Rhode Island.
Due to inclement weather, Tuesday’s game against Robert Morris University on Oct. 7 was canceled and will not be rescheduled.
Bonaventure midfielder Seth Hammond, a graduate transfer and business major from The University of North Carolina at Asheville, leads the team in scoring this season with 13 points on six goals and an assist.
George Mason sits tied for fifth with Rhode Island in the Atlantic 10 with a conference record of 2-1-1 and an overall record of 5-4-1. They fell 2-1 in their previous contest, a conference loss to Virginia Commonwealth University.
Patriots forward Jacobo Sanfeliu, a graduate transfer from Barcelona, Spain, leads the team in scoring this season with 14 points on six goals and two assists.
The match will kick off at 4:00 p.m., and the first 100 students in attendance will receive free pizza. Admission is free, and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
