As the weather begins to get colder, students are getting out their layers to show off on campus. Some students try to wear a comfortable yet cute look to sport in class. Warmth is also crucial when enduring the New York weather this time of year. Here are some of the staples students keep in their closets for the season.

Low-rise jeans have taken over the denim scene this fall. Some students think they are great to pair with anything from a crew neck to a cropped sweater. They are much looser than normal jeans, for some this makes them comfortable and gives a relaxed look. Low-rise jeans can be dressed up if need be, which makes them versatile to style for whatever a student’s day holds.

St. Bonaventure has seen some warmer days this fall, making a puffer vest a commonly worn extra layer for a cool morning or warm afternoon. This is another piece of clothing that can be dressed up or down depending on what student’s have going on. It also used to dress up a simple athleisure look and add a pop of color if that is desired.

Moving on to shoes. For some students, when running late to class nothing is easier than a slip-on shoe to get out the door. The Birkenstock Boston Clog has made a comeback this fall. Some students find these shoes to be very comfortable, practical and cozy for any look. Clogs have become very trendy this fall so if students are looking for a new shoe to add to their collection this could be a great option.

Of course, fall would not be fall without an excellent oversized crewneck. Not only do some students think crewnecks are extremely comfortable but they are also quite warm. Oversized looks are becoming a staple in closets so it doesn’t hurt to have a few on hand when students want a comfortable and cozy look on a crisp fall day.

Going along with comfortable outfits, matching sets have become extremely popular. Anyone can find matching sets in any color or texture on the market. Some think these are great for lounging around on the weekend or a long day in the library. Students can also easily dress these up a little bit with shoes such as Vans and some jewelry that compliments the color of the set.

When it comes to a really cold day, some students feel that a sherpa is a great way to stay warm without a lot of layers. People can get them in a wide variety of colors and styles to match the vibe they are going for. Students can pair a sherpa with their favorite pair of leggings and their shoe of choice, which some believe is an easy look that never fails when the weather gets cold.

Some students who have these pieces on hand in their closets believe this is a great way to ensure that they step out in style on campus while also dressing for the weather and being comfortable. They might even get a few compliments on where they got things from.
