The St. Bonaventure Student Food Committee is looking for students to participate in meetings hosted by Daniel Hungerford, vice president for finance and administration, and Nikki Clark, the Aramark food service director, to voice the good and the bad to help improve the dining hall experience for all.

Tuesday, students were able to have the opportunity to share their thoughts on this year’s experience on facilities such as the Hickey Dining Hall, Freshens, The RC Cafe, and Café La Verna alongside Connor Raine, Student Government Association president. The topics that were part of the discussion included product management, meal selections, and concerns with the layout of the stations.

“We try to offer a wide range of options at each of our stations that will provide students with a positive experience here on campus and help their dietary needs,” Clark said.

Clark reflected on her mission goal and assessed the current climate of Aramark’s operations:

“We are putting in a lot of time and effort into collecting data and working among multiple supply chains to enhance the selections that we have to offer,” Clark said. “The student body here is a very important part of that process, as we are very open to hearing your voice and looking into what changes that you would like to see at this facility, and how we can improve our options to be able to satisfy your daily needs.”

Hungerford, Raine, and the students made it vocal that they enjoy the sweet treats available, “especially the cheesecake,” Hungerford said. Clark’s plan for the stations moving forward is to help “make more options such as the Pasta Station and the Deli visible for the consumer, as common hour and managing time before classes can make it difficult for students to find the options that they crave.”

Freshens is another option for students to visit, located on the west end of campus next to Francis Hall. Freshens is labeled as a “Healthy, fresh casual concept, offering better for you, with products inspired by fresh ingredients,” Clark added, “We are looking to maintain a variety of favorite items on the menu while blending in a new selection of foods on behalf of the community’s interest.”

Café La Verna offers people a chance to grab a quick bite or a coffee to push through the school day.

The RC Cafe is well-known for providing food where students can grab snacks, drinks and plenty of choices for meals for a sit-down occasion or frozen meals that can be made at home.

For students who want to be included in the discussion and can help improve the dining experience on campus, The SBU Student Food Committee is looking for more students to attend bi-weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 4:30 P.M.
