Try to catch up on reading with these books this summer

Summertime is the perfect time to crack open a few good books to relax on the beach, on vacation, or even in your own backyard with. So, here are a few great books to pick up this summer that are going to make it hard for you to put them down.

The first book to check out this summer is “Book Lovers” by Emily Henry. The book is about a girl named Nora Stephens who decides to join her sister for a month-long getaway in a small town in North Carolina. Nora’s sister is hoping she will finally get some time and space on this getaway to live life for herself. Unfortunately, Nora runs into someone from the city that she knows and tries not to let his presence bother her. But, after running into him a few more times, she starts to realize that maybe there is an attraction between them. 

On May 10, “The Summer Place” by Jennifer Weiner will be released. The book is about a loving family who is gathering one last time at their summer home for the wedding of 22-year-old Ruby. This family is not short of their share of secrets though. Sarah is worried that Ruby is rushing into her marriage with her boyfriend whom she met during the pandemic. Other family members’ pasts are threatening to come to light amidst the upcoming big day. This book is all about the complex exploration of family and home. 

“Every Summer After” by Carley Fortune is also being released on May 10. Over the past six summers, Persephone Fraser and Sam Florek have slowly fallen in love. But, Persephone makes a mistake that ends the relationship and forces her to leave her home behind. She decides to become a city girl and create a whole new life for herself. Then, Sam’s mom dies and Persephone knows she needs to go back to her old town and pay her respects. Seeing Sam again brings back all the feelings that they used to have for each other and they wonder if they can try and make things work again. 

“My Summer Darlings” by May Cobb is set to release on May 17. This read is about three women who are nearing middle age. Jen, Kittie and Cynthia have been friends since childhood. They all live in a small east Texas town where not much ever changes. Then a handsome stranger named Will moves into one of the nicer homes in town and they all become quickly intrigued. As the women become close to Will, they start to become obsessed with him. But, little do they know, Will has a dark secret that none of them could have imagined. 

Make sure to check out all of these books from New York Times bestsellers as they are released throughout the month. They are books that are sure to allow you to escape from reality for a little bit as you soak up the summer sun no matter where you are.
