Layering clothing makes headway this winter season

in FEATURES/Uncategorized by

When the winter season finally sets in, many people may not know how to stay warm and still dress in style. Layering makes this extremely easy to accomplish. Patterns, textures, accessories and much more can all be layered, keeping people warm and in style. The goal here is to effortlessly make a statement through your outfit.
One simple way to layer involves the layering of textures. If you don’t want to draw a lot of attention by layering different colors and patterns, you can stick to using one bold statement item. The easiest color to do this with is black because it can pair easily with almost any statement item.
For the first outfit option, your statement item will be funky-patterned ankle boots, either animal, plaid, neon or paisley patterned. Snakeskin patterned booties are extremely trendy and look great when worn with an all-black outfit.
A turtleneck can easily work as a base layer. Your next layer depends on the style of bottoms you decide to wear. If you decide on skinny jeans or leggings, you may want to consider wearing a cape-like top over your turtleneck. This clothing item can have a long hemline or short hemline and can be topped off with a chic, dainty belt. Outfits similar to this are nice for a winter dinner or a casual night out with friends.
If you want a sporty, street look, your coat is a perfect statement item to have standout, and you can use this as an opportunity to mix and match patterns. Funky coat designs are just as bold as trendy booties and even easier to find. They can be found at almost any store and come in many patterns and fits. Plan on pairing an oversized, funky puffer jacket with a neon turtleneck, mom jeans and chunky sneakers or shin-high booties with a trendy block heel.
Plaid boyfriend trousers are one other option for sporting a giant puffer jacket. This particular style of pants look great with turtlenecks shirts and a statement belt, mock-neck sweaters and giant graphic t-shirts. To accessorize add a chunky chain choker, thick socks and motto boots.
Jewelry can also be used as a layering item and nothing is better than chunky necklace layering to top off the perfect street look in the winter.
The best part about fashion today is that if you don’t match, you are probably doing something right. Don’t be shy about colors and patterns when styling your outfits.
Graphic sweaters and blazer-styled, long-hem jackets go great together, as well. This choice of top lets you get creative with the colors you incorporate into your outfit, and you can utilize many different styles of pants. Trousers, jeans, cargo pants or even skirts look great worn with an oversized jacket. Then, you can choose to dress the outfit up or down depending on the type of shoes you decide to wear. Heels can easily bring this outfit to the next level, or you can conquer a day of errands with motto-styled boots or chunky sneakers.
Accessorizing is a big step when picking out an outfit; details are everything and exploring new trends can be fun. Each outfit idea above allows for the use of current accessory trends such as thick headbands, bedazzled hair clips, chunky chains and creative makeup styles.
