Summer trends to keep an eye on

in Fashion/FEATURES by

The weather is getting warmer and warmer each day, which means summer fashion is almost here. Stores are starting to put away their spring collections and are bringing out their summer collections.
Many pieces can transition from season to season, but if you haven’t freshened up your spring closet, summer is the time to do it.
It’s tough for college kids during the school semester to go out and buy some new pieces for the season. That’s why hitting the stores for summer vacation is a must in order to stay in style.
There are many trends from previous seasons that are being incorporated into the summer trends. Animal print, lavender and neon tones have quickly made their way to summer.
Cheetah print especially is not going anywhere yet. From shirts, shorts, dresses, rompers and tops, there is no getting away from it.
As for lavender tones, it has been the colors we have seen last spring and summer. The beautiful purple tone is the perfect color for weddings and work, but it also can be casual for everyday wear.
Neons are always a color you associate with warm weather. But this season especially neon green and orange have become a must have for every closet. Adding neon to your closet can be scary because it is such a bright color. A simple shirt or accessory can be just enough for your liking.
However, there are a bunch of new trends happening this season that everyone will need. Biker shorts are keeping the athleisure trend alive and thriving. They are perfect for everyday wear, working out and for the office. Yes, the office. Pairing the biker shorts with a blazer has been a huge trend that’s been seen all over Instagram. Long oversized blazers allow for a more professional look, paired with a fun belt and heels. As for a causal look, many stores are selling biker shorts with a matching oversized t-shirt. Throw on a pair of chunky sneakers or boots with that and the outfit is good to go.
Other hot trends include patch work and funky prints that are seen all over the runways. Patchwork designs are perfect for sundress and skirts, which many designers have created. They are usually made with a silky material that is perfect for the hot summer months.
Polka dots is also a pattern to look out for. This is the perfect pattern for making work attire more exciting. It can be just as simple as throwing on a blouse with some sort of bottoms ready to walk out the door. The polka dots can range from small to big, depending on if you want to be low-key or not.
These trends are perfect if you are looking to brighten up your summer wardrobe a bit. Keep these tips in mind when you start shopping for this upcoming season.
