Rick Trietley, vice president for student affairs, released a statement Monday regarding the alleged sexual assault that occurred early Sunday on an off-campus house.
Trietley said that although no charges have been filed, Bonaventure officials will launch their own investigation into the matter.
“Any reported incident of criminal sexual violence is deemed a threat to the community, even when the violation may have been committed by acquaintances of the reporting party, as was the case in this incident,” Trietley said.
He reiterated Bonaventure’s commitment to following Title IX regulations.
“Long before the state’s new Enough is Enough legislation was enacted, we’ve taken these incidents very seriously as part of our federal Title IX obligations,” he said.
