The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is sponsoring a trip to Toronto on Nov. 18 to see former Bonnie Andrew Nicholson play as a professional athlete with his new team, the Orlando Magic.

Tickets cost $25 for students, which include both the ticket to the game and the bus ride.

“The tickets were funded by the campus activities board,” said CAB president Christi Eckel. “We wanted students to be able to see Andrew play for an affordable price.”

Eckel said CAB originally planned to only send one bus, but after selling out tickets out in two hours when they went on sale last Wednesday, CAB chose to add a second bus.

Eckel said 106 students have signed up so far. E-mailing Steve Kuchera now to make sure this to-the-day accurate

Steve Kuchera, assistant director for the center of activities, recreation and leadership, said that students will also have the opportunity to explore Toronto before and after the game.

Eckel said CAB is also considering a bus trip to see the Orlando Magic play against Cleveland during the spring semester, but nothing is official yet.

“From what I’ve heard, people are very happy that we have a bus going to see Andrew play,” Eckel said.

Junior Tim Harfmann said he’s looking forward to going.

“I’m looking forward to the game.  After seeing Andrew succeed with the Bonnies, it will be great seeing him play in person as he continues his success into the NBA,” he said.
