Following the Atlantic 10’s choice to cancel all 2020 spring sports competitions and 2020 spring championships due to health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 virus, several St. Bonaventure University athletes were left with no final season. An abrupt ending for athletes who have given countless amounts of time and energy to represent the Bonnies.

The spring sports that lost their seasons include men’s baseball, track, golf, lacrosse, tennis, and women’s softball, track, lacrosse and tennis. The cancelation also brought an abrupt end to the season of the men’s basketball team that was set to play in the Atlantic 10 tournament on March 12.

The student-athletes of the 2020 class have taught every future and current Bonaventure athlete what it means to be a Bonnie, all while driving the program forward toward a brighter future. The class of 2020 woke up early to lift and practice to achieve athletically, and stayed up late reading and writing to achieve academically.

The class of 2020 didn’t deserve the ending it got…but it did everything it could with the time it had.

While there is still hope that the NCAA will make the decision to restore eligibility back to those who lost their seasons, I and The Bona Venture still wanted to take a moment to thank all of the graduating student-athletes for their hard work and dedication that has given all of our writers something to cover for the past couple years.

So…THANK YOU class of 2020! Click to learn more about each of these incredible athletes!
