There’s no rain delay on fashion

We are finally deep in fall weather, which has resulted in rain almost every day of the week. Rainy weather results in wanting to look lazy with sweatpants or leggings, not wanting to leave your bed all day.
There are many options when it comes to rainy day outfits. Bright colored rain jackets and rain boots have become more popular. Different brands also have different styles of waterproof footwear – not just your average rain boot, which gives you so many options for different outfits if you need to be dressy or casual.
If you are looking to splurge on a nice rain jacket that will last you years to come, brands like Patagonia, The North Face and L. L. Bean have a bunch of different styles that you can choose from. As college students, you have to walk to class regardless of the weather conditions, so splurging on a nice rain jacket will benefit you in the long run. The campus bookstore also has a couple rain jacket options if you want to represent St. Bonaventure.
Waterproof footwear is also something that every college student needs. There is nothing worse than getting to class with your feet sopping wet and having to sit there for an hour. There are so many options when it comes to waterproof shoes. The Hunter brand is the most known around college campuses for its rain boots. They are comfortable, reliable and come in many colors and styles. Again, Hunter boots are something to splurge on, but they are well worth it.
If you aren’t looking to spend a lot of money on a rain jacket and rain boots, there are many other brands that will still do the job. Check out stores like Columbia and Marmot. If you are looking for trendy raincoats, Asos and Urban Outfitters have many different options.
Styling rain gear is all about layers and fun colors. The typical bright yellow jackets are always fun to wear; try pairing it with a baseball hat so your hair doesn’t get wet and a pair of black waterproof chelsea-style boots. Or if you like to wear bright colors on your feet, opt for a pair of tall rain boots and keep your jacket neutral in color.
Don’t let the rainy blues get to you. Throw on your fun colored jacket and boots and go dance in the rain.
