Finance, Administration candidates to visit

Three finalists for the vice president of finance and administration have been identified and will begin campus visits today.
Martin A. Hoak will be available to meet with faculty, staff and students from 1 to 1:45 p.m. and the division of finance and administration staff from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m., both in the John J. Murphy Professional Building’s Dresser Auditorium. Monday, Mark H. Edwards, and Tuesday, H. Daniel Hungerford, will be available at the same times.
Hoak received his bachelor’s of science in economics from St. Bonaventure University, master’s in economics from Boston College and master’s of business administration from The University of Vermont.
He is also a Certified Diocesan Fiscal Manager (CDFM), a credential, conferred by the Diocesan Fiscal Management Conference, that indicates he was committed to professional ministerial excellence based on the application of temporal competencies and the highest of ethical standards to the advancement of the mission of the Catholic Church.
Since 2015, Hoak has served as chancellor and chief financial officer for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington, Vermont. Previously, Hoak worked for CCS Fundraising, a public relations consulting firm, in ​New York, New York, and The Gem Group, Inc., a supplier of business accessories to the promotional products industry, in ​Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Edwards received his bachelor’s of business administration in accounting from St. Bonaventure University.
He was a member of the board of directors for Access CNY, previously called Enable, a non-profit organization that provides services to children and adults with disabilities, along with services for their families, for seven years and served as president for two.
Edwards currently serves as the senior vice president and chief financial officer at Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, New York. He formerly served as chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration for bestroute.com LLC, chief financial officer of Syracuse Language Systems and senior audit manager of PricewaterhouseCoopers, all in Syracuse, New York.
Gungerford earned his bachelor’s of science in accounting from Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia.
He currently serves as the vice president for finance and administration at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.
Gungerford formerly served as the controller for Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, HealthSouth Corporation in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Berry Plastics in Danville, Kentucky, Intessera Technologies Group in Denver, Colorado, and Heartland, Inc. in Denver, Colorado.
He held the position of finance manager at SABIC-IP, formerly GE Plastics, in Washington, West Virginia, and at Bombardier Aerospace Corp. in Bridgeport, West Virginia. Early in his career, he was financial operations principal for Bucchieri Asset Management in Vail, Colorado and senior associate for Coopers & Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers, in Denver, Colorado.
