On Sunday, the St. Bonaventure women’s tennis team defeated the Binghamton Bearcats, 5-2. The match was held at the St. Bonaventure Fitness Center, and with the victory the Bonnies improved to 3-7 for the spring season, which began Jan. 20.

Freshman Clara Herberts beat fellow freshman Rebecca Dellaway 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, while junior Dominique Mortier beat junior Paulina Tafler 6-1, 7-5. Freshman Kahlei Reisinger knocked off junior Allison Roma 2-6, 6-3, 10-4, followed by a win for senior Lauren Doversola by default for the fourth Bonaventure singles win.

In doubles, the Bonaventure pair of senior Mara Martinez-Santori and junior Gabrielle Bowe fell to Binghamton’s senior Annie DiMuro and freshman Samara Eisenberg combo, 6-3. The SBU freshman team of Herberts and Reisinger defeated Binghamton’s Dellaway and Roma combo, 6-2. In the third doubles match, the Bonnies won by default, and therefore took the available point for doubles, having won 2 out of 3.

The Bonnies will return to action on Saturday and Sunday when the Bonnies will travel to Army West Point where they will play Army and Fordham.
