Contrary to popular belief, coats aren’t the only outerwear made for fall. There is a whole variety of alternatives that’ll keep you warm and stylish on those chilly evenings.
Vest
A vest is the top must-have alternative piece for your wardrobe. It’s versatility in weight and style provides enough options to choose from. For warmth, you can opt for a fur or puffer vest, adding long-sleeve layers underneath for additional warmth. If you’re more interested in riding the style route, you can go for a lapel or trench vest.
Poncho
The poncho, almost reminiscent of a blanket, is a great way to avoid the burden of wearing a coat. It can be worn individually, depending upon the length, layered over a dress or worn with other staple fall wardrobe pieces like shorts, floppy hats and thigh-high boots. The vest adds a nice burst of color and contrast in texture while providing warmth.
Blazer
The blazer captures the essence of what a coat usually achieves without ever threatening to overshadow your ensemble. Its vast styles, ranging from the classic fitted to over-sized boyfriend, makes it worthy to style in the fall as it enhances the caliber of style in your look.
Cape
A love child of the poncho and classic fall coat, the cape provides a nice balance of warmth and flexibility. Its traditional bold print and loose, flowing structure creates a notable illusion of elegance.
