There was a lot of excitement on campus with the release of the new Apple iPhone 6.

Some students admitted that they took the trip to the local BJ’s just to get a feel of the phone, which was released on September 19.

“The iPhone 6 is sleek and beautiful,” said Bonaventure Akinlosotu, a sophomore political science major. “I felt like I had so much power while holding it because it’s such an advanced piece of technology in my hand.”

The new iPhone 6 as well as the iPhone 6 Plus are now available in Apple stores, online and in major retailers. The iPhone6 is 4.7 inches tall, as compared to the 4 inch iPhone 5. The iPhone 6 Plus comes in at 5.5 inches.

The cost of the iPhone 6 ranges from $199 for the 16GB model, to $399 for the 128GB model, according to apple.com. Some of the phones new features include more vibrant colors, a higher contrast and wider viewing than the iPhone5s.

For photographers, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus has a new sensor with Focus Pixels and time-lapse video mode.

The iPhone 6 is designed to be more user-friendly. According to apple.com, the covered glass curves down at the edges creating no gaps, just a smooth feel. It also features elongated volume buttons and a new sleep/wake button.

Many Apple product lovers plan on remaining faithful to Apple, and intend on upgrading as soon as possible.

“(The iPhone 6) is unique,” said Steven Carcaterro, a senior psychology major. “I plan on getting it. I want to feel the power.”

Other students admit that the iPhone 6 has some exciting features, but argue that the investment for a phone that looks almost exactly like the previous iPhone just isn’t worth it.

“I personally would not buy the iPhone because it’s so expensive,” said Diego Emiliano, a sophomore business major. “I prefer an android over the iPhone. There’s more of a variety with droid phones. With the iPhone, they’re all the same thing.”

With the advancement in Android phones, some students are making the decision to stick to their droids, thus increasing the competition between Apple and Android.

Whether or not Bonas students like the iPhone6, they can count on expecting many more future releases from Apple.
