Spring into Fashion

I hope you all had a lovely spring break. A lot of people would argue that it is not quite spring, and looking out the window, it ‘s clear they’re right. I was lucky enough to visit Florida for spring break. The sun and warm weather got me excited about swapping L.L.Bean boots and North Face jackets for flip-flops and T-shirts. Spring is the perfect time of year to flaunt your fashion, and each year the trends are edgier than the previous seasons. I have researched the up-and-coming trends to give you enough time to purchase key spring pieces.
For women, pastel colors are a huge trend on fabrics like sheer chiffon, lace, leathers and knits. Floral prints will be a huge trend, including daisy and tropical styles on oversized, boxy and sports-shaped garments. Another trend is monochrome. The simple color palette of black and white has been channeled into animal print and optical art patterns.
For men, double-breasted blazers are essential this season. Creams and neutral shades are the main color pallets. In terms of trends, nautical design is huge. Shorts and stripes, floral prints and neon sneakers are also must-have pieces.

1:Boohoo: Lilac Textured Jumper $45.00
2:Forever21:Statement Gem Necklace $11.80
3:H&M: Floral Print Leggings $14.95
4:Boohoo:Pale Pink Watch $37.64
5:ASOS: Baby Blue Satchel $33.87
6:Forever21:Pale Pink Lace Up Boots $36.80

Pastel colors are known for their association with spring but I usually associate lemon and mint green with Easter. This season, however, it has been recreated with an edge, with many different shades of pastel jeans and pants, pvc skirts, as well as sheer blouses and textured sweaters. If you are not a fan of the pastel clothing, you can always brighten up your normal wardrobe with pastel accessories. I have picked capsule pieces that can be worn together or separately. I love the sweater and the leggings together. The contrast of the pastels and the black leggings works well. The accessories are all different pastel colors, but they all match each other perfectly. Don’t be afraid to mix and match different shades. If they are light colors, they won’t clash, and they’ll all blend together.

1:H&M: Navy and White Striped T-shirt $9.95
2:Boohoo: Red, White & Navy Contrast T-Shirt $14.95
3:River Island: Red Chino Shorts $50
4:River Island: Tan Chino Shorts $50
5:River Island: Tan Leather Belt $30
6:River Island: Navy Boat Shoe $80

A classic spring trend that can be easily adopted is the nautical style. This trend’s main color palette is navy, white, red and cream. The collection includes striped shirts, colored shorts or chinos, tan accessories, boat shoes and fine knits. The pieces I chose can be mixed and matched while the shoes and the belt can be worn with any one of the combinations. Pair any one of these pieces together and wear with a cream cardigan in the spring until the temperature rises.
