Last week gave way to the biggest fashion event of the season: New York Fashion Week. Designers showcased their brands, featuring a beautiful array of new trends and styles for the up-and-coming season. Despite all of the gorgeous collections from the best in the business, Dolce and Gabbana, Elie Saab and Gucci, there was one collection that outdid the rest. The successful and talented Austrian designer Peter Pilotto has collaborated with Target to make a beautiful spring and summer collection.

Pilotto’s dresses are stunning. He is known for his expensive, eye-catching, kaleidoscopic prints and structured dresses that are sold on Net-A-Porter and Polyvore. With his collections ranging into the thousands of dollars, I was excited to hear he released a collection in Target; a store known for its great value. The collection has 80 to 100 pieces, including  skirts, tops, blouses, dresses, beach wear and accessories. All of the pieces have been designed to be mixed and matched together. I looked online and picked out my favorite looks and presented them in two boards below.

patterns

1.Target: Blue & White Striped Top $29.99, Blue Patterned Shorts With Black Stripe $29.99, Blue Print Moto Jacket $59.99

2.Target: Blue Floral Printed Dress $69.99

3.Target: Floral Stripe Top $29.99, Floral Striped Skirt $34.99, Floral Clutch $22.99

Within the collection, Pilotto used four or five main prints.  I love the print and structure of number one. The shorts are perfect – a trouser suit would be too overwhelming in that pattern. The black panel inserts in the jacket and the shorts will flatter your figure and give the illusion of a smaller waist. Number two is a beautiful shape; very simple and attractive. Number three looks like a dress, but is actually a skirt and top. Both pieces are perfect together but could be recycled and worn again with a different skirt or top.

1.Target: Collection 2,

Blouse $22.99, Skirt $34.99.

2.Target: Crop Top $24.99,

Pencil Skirt $39.99

3.Target: Belted Dress $44.99

One and three come from the same pattern. Outfit number one looks like a dress, but it is actually a skirt and top. Both outfits are well worth the investment. The skirt would be gorgeous with a brightly colored top, and the blouse would be perfect for day wear with a pair of skinny jeans or cigarette pants. With number two, I love both the pieces together, but they would also work separately. There is a skirt in the collection that is made from the same print as the top. My final pick from this beautiful and extensive collection was this lovely dress you see on three. The shape around the arms can be very flattering, as can the white belt; nipping you in at the waist, making it appear smaller.

I hope you appreciate this collection as much as I do. It was reported to have flown off the shelves and is already double the price on eBay. However, Target online still has lines available, as does Net-A-Porter. If you have a special occasion coming up or just want to cash in on a designer bargain, get on it right away. Happy weekend and spring break.
