Meet Daniel Leopold. He’s a freshman journalism and mass communication and history double major with a minor in adventure.

Each week, the Buffalo native will chronicle his Bona adventures in The BV. Stay tuned throughout the semester to read about Leopold’s first-ever food coma breakfast at Sprague’s and hike at Rock City. Next week, Leopold will write about his trip flying through the trees at Sky High Adventure Park.

In the meantime, learn about Leopold in his own words:

BV:

What are some of your hobbies?

Leopold:

I’m a big music fan, and I used to work in a music store. I love to read everything. My favorite author is George Orwell. I also love ultimate frisbee and I can’t wait to get involved at Bona’s.

BV:

You’re about to go on some local adventures. What are the best trips you’ve ever been on?

Leopold:

I loved visiting Washington D.C. and Gettysburg. I’m a huge history buff.

BV:

What adventure are you most looking forward to?

Leopold:

I really love hiking, so I’m excited for Rock City, but the best part of this is being able to try new things. It’s all about doing something I wouldn’t normally do, so I’m excited for every single new experience. I’ll provide information about how every student can do these adventures too. I’ll provide opening hours and information about transportation. I’ll ask a couple of friends to come along as well.

BV:

How do you think this will benefit your new peers?

Leopold:

Some of these things on the list are secrets to most freshmen. I’ll be writing about things some freshmen like me may not have known about. More than half of the adventures I’d never even heard of at all. I just want to meet new people, make friends and experience new things.
